Squads are a gameplay feature available in Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, unlocked upon reaching Episode 3.

Each unit can be assigned to one of many squads that are unlocked throughout the game. Every squad has different effects which may give bonuses to their members, to all ally units, or even improve facilities at the base. Note that a squad needs to have at least one member in order to activate its effects, even those whose effects don't depend on the number of members.

One member of each squad will be assigned as its Leader, with the effect of some squads being based around the Leader unit. Leaders can also use the powerful Squad Attack skill(details below).

Incarcerated prisoners can be assigned to aid a squad, which gives it experience to level up. As each squad gains levels it obtains new effects or improves the effects it already has.

The Leader of each Squad gains access to a powerful skill known as the Squad Attack. Each Leader may only use it once per battle, while in Revenge Mode. It's a single target attack with a free range of 3, whose base power follows the next formula:

BasePower = 100% + SquadMembers*(5% + 0.2%*AidingPrisoners)

  • SquadMembers is the number of assigned Squad members except for the Leader
  • AidingPrisoners is the number of prisoners that has been used to level up the Squad, capped at 225

Since the largest Squads have a max size of 20, its base power can reach a value of 1050%.

The most notable feature of Squad Attacks is that they hit all enemies on the map in the same Squad as the target, though its damage is reduced by 5% per unit beyond the first one.

Skill Training Squad Episode 9 Members can use the Leader's Weapon Skills and Spells, but earn only 10 Skill EXP per use(ignores modifiers). A borrowed skill is permanently learned if it reaches level 1. Also increases Skill EXP gained. 2 15.000 Lvl 1: Members can use Leader's skills.
