Rising Fear is the second stage in Episode 11: Hero's Will, Overlord's Way in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.
Story[]
The party is intercepted by a figure who attacks first, and asks questions after. Thursday takes the blow meant for Gordon, and is severely damaged. The figure finally introduces himself as Don Joaquin, the original Defender of Earth. He is quite unpleased to learn his successor has sunk so low as to become a vassal of the overlord. Then, he vanishes. The party reasons this must be the soul of the Defender of Earth, unable to rest in peace as long as he does not complete his final mission: defeating the overlord.
