Properties are an item improvement system available in Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless, akin to Innocents. Every item can have various properties assigned to it, each granting different numerical bonuses or passive effects.
The first one in an item's property list is called its Unique property, and it will always be the same for every copy of that item. Most items on a same category will have the same Unique property(i.e. most Swords have the Parry property). The rest are the item's Additional properties, and are the extra properties that are randomly assigned to items when they're generated, or inherited from Item Reincarnation. Items from the shop in the main hub will never have Additional properties.
The properties in consumable items also have a number attached, which always starts at 1, indicating the remaining uses of the item. Reincarnating an item with a consumable property into an item with the same property will increase this number by 1, letting you use it multiple times before it disappears from the inventory. If an equippable item has such properties, reaching 0 will simply erase the property from the item.
Items can have up to 8 properties (1 Unique and 7 Additional), however there can't be repeated ones.
