Netherworld Effects are a gameplay feature available in Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. Certain stages will have special effects applied to them, affecting every unit on the stage or sometimes just one team.

Once the player unlocks the Netherworld Editor they gain the ability to spend 1 level of the Bonus Gauge in order to summon their custom Netherworld, replacing the stage's current effect with the one assigned to the Netherworld(if any).

List of Equippable Effects[]

List of effects that the player can assign to their custom Netherworld. New effects are unlocked at random by defeating Lost Armies or Invading Armies found inside the Item World.

Name Description
Sandstorm Decrease accuracy of all units by 20%.
Fire Powder Decrease Fire resistance of all units by 50%.
Snow Decrease Ice resistance of all units by 50%.
Gale Force Winds Decrease Wind resistance of all units by 50%.
Group Activity Increase stats of the team with the most units by 10%. (Ties favor the Player Team)
Bounce Thrown units will bounce 3 panels in the direction they're facing.
Final Trump Card Increase stats of your team by 50%, but lose the battle at the end of the turn.
Bonus Costs Increase stats of your team by 10%, but the Bonus Gauge won't fill anymore.
EXP Up Increase EXP earned by 50%.
Mana Up Increase Mana earned by 50%.
HL Up Increase HL earned by 50%.
WM Up Increase Weapon Mastery earned by 50%.
Skill EXP Up Increase Skill EXP earned by 50%.
Class Prof Up Increase Class Proficiency earned by 50%.
Netherworld Drop Once this battle, any unit of your team can use the Netherworld Drop skill: Hits radius-5 circle around the user, dealing damage equal to 50% of the target's max HP. (Does not work on bosses)
Total Geo Break Once this battle, any unit of your team can use the Total Geo Break skill: Destroys all Geo Symbols on the map. (Ignores invincibility. Only usable in the Item World)
Fire Providence Increase Fire resistance of all units by 50%.
Water Providence Increase Ice resistance of all units by 50%.
Wind Providence Increase Wind resistance of all units by 50%.
Elemental Barrier Increase Fire, Ice and Wind resistance of all units by 10%.
Fast Walk Increase Move of all units by 1.
Hop Around Increase Jump of all units by 10.
Strong Arms Increase Throw of all units by 1.
Relief Support Spawn a treasure chest at a random location at the end of each turn.
Auto HP Recovery Units recover 5% max HP at the end of each turn.
Auto SP Recovery Units recover 5% max SP at the end of each turn.
Auto Healing Units recover 2% max HP and SP at the end of each turn.

List of Non-Equippable Effects[]

Sea of Poison Poisondise At the end of each turn, non-flying units on water tiles will be Poisoned.
Mushroom Paradise Demunshroom At the end of each turn, a Mushroom object will spawn in a random location.
Out of Bounds! Dark Testament Characters can be thrown outside of the stage layout, and this removes them from battle.
Bombing Run Fortress De Gaulle At the end of each turn, a radius-2 explosion will hit around a random ally, dealing damage equal to 1/16 of that ally's Max HP.
Protection Beam Gorgeous At the start of each Player turn 10 panels will be targeted, prioritizing where ally units are standing. At the end of the Player turn, units standing on targeted panels will take damage equal to 50% of Max HP plus 1.
Reinforcements Outer Dark Demise At the end of each turn, an additional enemy will spawn.
S. Overlord Baal Celestial Hell Changes effect on each turn, rotating through the following list:
-No effect.
-Aim at a radius-10 circle around an ally at the start of the turn, then allies in that area take 70% Max HP of damage at the end of the Player turn.
-Ally units take 50.000.000 fixed damage when leaving the Base Panel.
-Decrease Move stat of all ally units by 3.
-At the end of turn, an additional enemy will spawn.
-Decrease all elemental resistances of all ally units by 50%.
-Increase attacking stat and decrease defending stat by 50% for all units.
-Uses the Protection Beam effect from Gorgeous stages.
-Inflict Poison on all ally units.
-Restore 50% Max SP to all enemy units at the end of the Player turn.
-Critical rate becomes 0% for all ally units.
If you summon your Netherworld, it will be destroyed at the end of the Player turn and this effect will return.
