The Mage or Witch is a class in Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. She is a innocent witch girl who wears a bow tied in her hair that transmit information into her brain, in which allows her to use magic efficiently.
Her Evility is Magic Moderation, which lets her use magic and skills with 50% less SP.
The Witch possesses a higher HIT Aptitude/Growth at the cost of lower SPD and HP Aptitudes. This is the extent of the stat differences between her and her male counterpart.
The Mage is a class designed around Magic-casting, and possesses the second-highest INT Aptitude of Humanoid classes to reflect this. Upon creation, she can learn (up to Tera level) Magic spells from her chosen element. Unlike the Skull, the Witch sacrifices raw damage output in exchange for SP management. This makes Magic and Special Skills less of a chore to cast during the early portions of the game. As time goes on however, the Mage becomes less valuable for her lower SP costs and more for her ability to recover her SP VIA her personal Evilities and her Special Skill Energy Potion.
This class can also be given an Elemental Forte, which increases the Elemental Resistance by 50% of one, and lowers that of another by 50. When raising the Fire Res. Ice will go down, raising the Wind will make Fire go down, and raising the Ice makes Wind decrease. This will also determine which Magic-elemental magic they'll learn.
Given her low HP, the Mage should avoid rushing into the thick of things if it can be helped; as she can be very quickly cut down. Higher Tiers of the Mage can also use the Gun as a back-up weapon, though their growth in these stats leave a lot to be desired.
The Mage's Evilities are all centered around conservation and recovery of her SP.

Mages start with the either WInd, Fire or Ice depending on the chosen affinity. Star is learned at rank 3 (Blue Mage)
