Evilities are passive abilities introduced in Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice. The name is a portmanteau of "Evil Ability". Each character has a Native Evility which cannot be disabled by normal means. Evilities range from the Prinny's exploding when thrown, to the Winged Warrior's chance to evade close range attacks in Disgaea 3 and Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, to generic abilities including the boosting of Aptitude stats.

In Disgaea 3 and Disgaea 4

In Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice and Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, each character has 2 Evility slots; the first one is taken by the character's Native Evility while the second one is available for a Secondary Evility. In Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention and Disgaea 4, monsters have an additional slot for secondary Evilities. Most characters allow you to buy Evilities for their secondary slot(s) at the Evility Shop using Mana. The characters that cannot get more Evilities from the shop can still acquire more Evilities by putting them in the same club of someone with a Evility you wish for the other character to obtain and taking the character you wish to have acquire the Evility into the Class World. Native Evilities cannot be transferred to others. Also, if a Monster Magichanges with a Humanoid, the Humanoid gains access to the Monster's Evility while they are wielding the monster.

For all generic classes, the first Secondary Evility can be learned in the second tier and above, the second Secondary Evility can be learned in the fourth tier and above, and the third Secondary Evility can be learned in the sixth tier.

In Disgaea 5

In Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, there are two types of Evilities, Unique Evilities, and Common evilities.

A Unique Evility is already on the character when created, and the first one is determined by the class of the character. Mastering a subclass will unlock additional unique evilites. Later in the game, additional Unique Evility slots can be acquired, one at a time. A bill that can be passed in the Strategy Assembly after completing the game will unlock a Unique Evility slot. Another slot can be earned the first time a character lands a finishing blow on Carnage Dark in the Evil God of Tyranny stage, and a third after landing a finishing blow on Prinny Overlord in the Overture of Downfall stage.

Each character has between 5 and 20 Common Evility slots, and common Evilities require varying amounts of slots to be able to be equipped. Low level characters start with 5 common Evility slots, and gain more as they level up, increasing from 5 at level 1 to 12 at level 9999. Up to five extra common Evility slots can be acquired by entering the Chara World, reaching the goal, and then selecting the golden fish who will offer an extra common Evility slot. Up to three extra common Evility slots can be acquired by defeating Miss Evil in the Chara World at Super Overlord difficulty.
