Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless (魔界戦記ディスガイア7, Makai Senki Disugaia Sevun, literally: Netherworld Battle Chronicle Disgaea Seven) is the eigth main title in the Disgaea series. The game was released in Japan in January 26th, 2023, and later received international releases during the first two weeks of October that same year.
Plot[]
The Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster was famous for its warriors and culture of bushido, but that changed when the cruel Demmodore Opener took over the government and instated a full ban on bushido. We follow Pirilika, an otaku for Hinomoto, who travels to it only to find that it's not the wonderful place she imagined it to be. When she's pursued by the Shogunate's forces and helped by a wayward warrior called Fuji, she hires him as her bodyguard and tasks him to help her stop Opener's regime and restore Hinomoto to its former glory.

Gameplay[]
As one of the main games in the series, Disgaea 7 is a traditional grid-based tactical RPG. The game advances by completing a series of individual stages where the objective is to defeat all enemies present. Up to 10 characters can be deployed at once on a stage, and the player has at their disposal not only the important characters unlocked throughout the story but also generic characters that can be freely recruited through the character creation system.
This game keeps most major gameplay features from the series, like Combos and Team Attacks to increase your attack power through teamwork, or the Dark Assembly, Skill Shop and Item World to improve your army and equipment, among others.
New major features:
- Hell Mode: Characters with access to an Infernal Weapon have a gauge that fills on specific conditions, and once it's full they can release the full power of the weapon.
- Jumbification: A feature that allows any character to become gigantic, gaining massive attacks and spreading a passive effect through the whole map.
- Item Reincarnation: Items whose Item World has been fully explored can be returned to level 1 while inheriting stats, and can even reincarnate as a different item.
- Properties: Items are spawned with traits that grant various modifiers. Use Item Reincarnation to transform an item and accumulate many powerful Properties.
- Missions: Each stage comes with a series of challenges that grant a prize if they're cleared.
- Netherworld Sightseeing: Walk around the terrain of cleared stages and interact with its inhabitants.
