What's on your mind?
And I was wondering what units should i place into my party?
How should we apply categories to classes? I want to make it consistent across all class pages.
Should we apply the Humanoid Classes and Monster Classes categories to the main page for each class, the game specific pages for each class, or both?
Should we apply the Disgaea (game number) Classes categories to the main page for each class, or only for the game specific pages for each class, or do it for both?
I want to know your opinion on this.

So you know how all the sprites for the Weapons are in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, right?
...Not all of them? Well, I found these on The Spriters Resource that are for the game. Notice that there are not ripped by me, since I got them from the forementioned site itself. You'll also notice that the weapons have different colors as well. They are ordered from left to right: Common, Rare, and Legendary. The sprite next to the, let's say Common Sword, it's a modified, yet, higher rank sword.
Another example is the Light Saber on the bottom right of the whole arsenal (not the monochrome ones at the bottom). Next to it is the Yoshitsuna, the 'evolved' form if you will of the former. Here are the sprites ripped by CrimsonPenguin (if he has an account on here, I hope e doesn't mind if I show these without his permission)
Bows (note the sprite similar next to the one you see is an animated version)
I hope this was useful information for all of you! Post the sprites in the list of the weapons for the game! Add their three sprite versions of 'em, too!
Has anyone done this? The La Pucelle: Tactics article here is an overview and I imagine mods do not want data for that game cluttering this project. Could not find one in a search. Pucelle.wikia would be interesting. Lots of cool guides like gamefaqs.com/ps2/566126-la-pucelle-tactics/faqs/37307 have data we could adapt there.
Whatever pronect should be linked from this wiki's article and vice versa.
Was reading gamefaqs.com/ps2/589678-disgaea-hour-of-darkness/faqs/25989 and it mentions to maximize attack on an item you must subdue all specialists and fill it with gladiators before killing level 10 item general.
Can anyone verify if specialist presence on an item matters on the 10th levels? Guides say many things and it would be good to have alltheir discoveries here if they are verifiable.
I did not have this in mind when leveling my stuff. I kept the item i was leveling empty so i could use the specialists to keep my character stronger.
If slotted specialists matter, which ones do? Somepl properties like poison probably cannot transfer...
Does level of specialists matter or would 13 slots filled with level 1 gladiators be same as 13 slots filled wkth level 1000 gladiators?
Does anyone know where to find the area map images for the other Disgaea games. We have really nice map images for D1, but nothing for the other games. I've been googling a bit, to see if I can find them, but the only really nice ones I can find, are the D1 images already here on the wiki. So I was wondering where the D1 area maps came from, and if we could find the same for the later games.
It's not problem for me to put in the work to upload all the images. I just don't know where to find them.
Thanks for the help.
I've been experimenting with disgaeamapsinfobox template to see if there is way to make the already great template even better. I had this silly idea that it might be nice to have the information on Etna mode in a another tab. When a stage has an Etna mode counterpart, the infobox can get kind of crowded (example: Valgipus IV.) It's not dramatic, but I think less is more in some cases. And using a tabber for splitting out the Main story and Etna mode, seemed like a good idea.
Anyway, I created the sandbox page and got on with the experimenting. Template:DisgaeaMapInfobox/sandbox
The idea was to have Etna mode on a tabber, but the Etna mode tab should only be visible if and when there is any data to display. I'm not that good with coding so I knew this could take awhile :) But after a while, I started to wonder if this was even possible. It is! I found examples on another wiki but I'm unable to use the coding on our current template. I'm struggling with getting the if-function to work on the tabber and inserting the tabber without messing with the parameters.
This is the site with the examples: videogameresource.wikia.com/wiki/User:Sovq
Any help is appreciated. If we could get this to work, we could easily add more hidden tabs, like Dark World, Axel mode,...
Quick question. On the List of Disgaea maps (page), there are 2 clear sections:
1) Storyline maps: maps mandatory to progress in the story
2) Bonus maps: optional maps
Now, I've been meaning to create the map page for the optional battle against Zetta in the DS version. So I just wanted to check what would be the right course of action. Do I create a new map in the "Bonus maps"-section to... let's say "(Primordial Soup (Bonus stage)" under a new mentioning of Stellar Graveyard in the bonus maps section. Or do I expand the current page "Primordial Soup"? Though I don't know how the page would react to having 2 disgaea-map-info-boxes. Or I could use a tabber, like I did for Demonhall mirror?
I don't know if this scenario occurs in other games. But then I (or other users) can follow the same logic.
Any reaction is appreciated.
So I noticed the wiki has about 500 orphaned pages, and quite a few of those are disambiguation pages. I was wondering what the communities view is on those pages.
For example, the first page in the list is 'Brawler', a tier of the martial artist class. And the only thing the page does, is mention that. Personally, I don't feel the need for pages like that. I'd rather immediately see a list of pages related to my search query, than this kind of page which feels imcomplete.
I already voted one of those pages for deletion, before good sense kicked in and I decided to check here first.
So let me know what you think. If anything can be done, I'll add it to my 'to do' list.
So I was looking at the D1 list of accessories and I noticed that many of these accessories have individual pages. However, both the list-page and the individual accessory-pages contain only tables, each with half of the info. So I was thinking it would make sense to change that.
My suggestion: I think the design of the 'weapons' pages works really well and we could use that here too. We could group all the detailed info into the list-page and then a comparison/evolution of the accessories throughout the series could go on their individual pages. For the list-page, I would even suggest to use the same template as used for the weapons. The advantage of that template is that it allows the 'flavor text' and some other comments (for example: info on specialist/innocents) to be shown beneath the stats. This prevents the table from becoming too wide and needing a slider to be able to read all of it (as is the case with the D3 Lists).
Something else, but I think i'll mention it here as well. I also noticed something odd in the "template:accessories". In the "related" section, there are 2 links ('weapons' and 'accessories') that refer to their "Navigation Templates"-page, instead of to their fandom-pages. I don't know if this is intentional. If it isn't, we might want to change that. I already tried it once (without publishing the changes) and then I get a non-existing page for accessories, and an existing page for the weapons. This last page, however, redirects from 'weapons' to 'weapon' and finally to 'category:weapons'. A bit circuitous so I don't know if we can just delete those pages? I'm guessing we won't need them anymore if we have a proper weapons page. Just a question though... if any changes were to be made to this "template:accessories", would that change be implemented on all pages with that template? Or would we need to re-upload the corrected template on all those pages? (I really have no idea how this works).
So, that's about it. Interested in hearing some of your thoughts.
I have visited many wikis, like the kirby wiki, mario wiki,BC wiki, and MGE wiki, and i have noticed they have many thigs and links. But this wikia has a great step backwards in the following things:
1:Lack of Templates
The "Lack of templates" means that this wikia has only around 5 templates. The main page is crap, since it only says "Welcome to the disgaea wiki, this wiki has # articles everyone can edit!"and you scroll down, and there's just a white screen. There are basically no links to the videogame classes, glitches,or other stuff, and the videogame pages don't show links to stuff like "Classes,Stages,Skills,Evilities, etc."it only says the game's plot. This wiki needs more templates.
2:Great lack of user activity
In the forums, people barely post stuff. In this wiki, you start a discussion or publish something,no one answers your discussion.Comparing this wiki to the Kirby Wiki,in Kirby Wiki you start a discussion, and you receive around 6 or more replies in half a day, while in this wiki, you publish something and no one answers you for years.
3:High number of broken links
Looking at "List of Disgaea # classes" and other pages like that, you see many broken links (Written on red words). And it seems like people in this wikia don't fix a thing at all, they just let this wiki like this.
By the looks of this wiki,it has been here for years, and it looks like it was created weeks ago.In order to fix this,i will have to help to improve this wiki...
Some useful stategies for D4
Make your own classes and share them on this forum.
A month ago NIS gave a news is his work a Re-Release Disgaea Hour of Darkness for PC,we know is been new style and old style interface and everything from Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness. Please add this to this wiki.
P.s If link didn't work here will be to copy : store.steampowered.com/app/405900
I'm sorry but...I had to remove the D5 class template from the few pages its gone on, because it blatantly wasn't finished. Despite this, Sanna expected us to put it onto pages. Forgive me if I am overstepping my bounds here, but that just makes the wiki look sloppy if we are expecting readers to put up with blatantly unfinished templates devoid of information, without even a way for them to contribute (since as BetaDragon has shown, common users don't know how to edit the nav templates. For the record, there is a "e" on the left corner of the template which takes you to the edit page).
We need to properly make and fill out the template before we put it on pages. We need to figure out what each class is called in the context of the game (most of the class names we have up are educated guesses based on website URLs and returning classes, but those aren't set in stone either. Hi Healer! Oh, you going by Clergy now? Oh, you going by Priest now? Hi Dragon...Chimera, sorry), and what the tiers for these classes are called. We need to know in what order the game itself arranges them on the Character creation screen and/or Data Shop entries. We need to know all of the unique classes in the game even.
I'm going to be honest, this seems to be basically a symptom of us trying to rush out and cover the Disgaea 5 info as fast as we can, trying to have everything in place before we have things to put into place even. Making character pages? Good. Making class pages? Character specific class pages? Templates? Fine, but do we have the information to fill them in?
Do we have the information? Can we get it? If not, no one is going to blame us for not having pages up. Game isn't even out in English. Heck, the English promotional website isn't even up yet (as of this writing, it's a promo page promising that the full site is coming soon)
